Koch & Rau, Messerwarenfabrik, began in 1865 in Stuttgart, Württemberg. In 1899 it registered its “KR” monogram below a crown, and in 1900 Karl Koch opened a branch in Solingen, supplying steel, stag horn and celluloid to knife makers for blades and grips. In 1914 Karl’s widow Anna Koch, Konrad Koch and Gotth. were listed as owners. From 1925 to 1930 the firm made pocket knives, scissors and razors while still selling steel and grip materials.

“Absolutely stunning in every aspect. So much background information that has been missed in other books. Definitely worth the price.”
