In 1769 Johann Wilhelm Lauterjung registered his trademark in the Solingen knife makers’ register, and a factory was built in 1855. In 1876 his son Ernst Otto Lauterjung began making small pocket knives, sabres and hunting knives in an additional small factory. On 26 May 1900 the name “PUMA-Werk, Lauterjung und Sohn” was entered in the Solingen register. By 1920 Eugen and Franz Lauterjung had built a second plant and begun exporting PUMA pocket and hunting knives.

“Absolutely stunning in every aspect. So much background information that has been missed in other books. Definitely worth the price.”
