Melzer & Feller, Werkzeugfabrik, began before 1892 under Emil and Alfred Melzer, forging saddlers’ tools: plough gauges, leather punches, saddle irons, strap and ulu knives. Its horse trademark was registered in 1895, and by 1901 it was listed as a maker of machine tools.
