F. Dick, Stahlwaren- und Werkzeug-Fabrik, was founded in 1778 by Johann Friedrich Dick. In 1889 Dick built a new factory in Esslingen employing well over 100 workers, expanding from files and sharpening steels into butchers’ and chefs’ knives, cleavers and specialised tools. In 1895 F. Dick registered its arrow trademark, with and without the words “F. Dick”.

“Absolutely stunning in every aspect. So much background information that has been missed in other books. Definitely worth the price.”
