Carl Wilhelm Linder, born in 1816, opened a knife-making workshop in 1870. His youngest son Carl took over in 1890, moved to larger premises in 1903 and registered as a company in October 1908. By 1911 the firm was mainly known for hunting knives, and after World War I it supplied many export markets. Business had declined by the 1930s. Carl died in 1936, and in May 1937 his widow sold the company to Paul Rosenkaimer, another old Solingen knife maker, who renamed it Carl Linder Nachf. (“successor”).

“Absolutely stunning in every aspect. So much background information that has been missed in other books. Definitely worth the price.”
